Back... Sorta

Thu Sep 24, 2009, 9:11 PM
I know its been a while since I've posted any new art. Unfortunately I haven't drawn much. Nor have I even checked DA recently. Over 100 art pieces to look at! Wow. I can't promise I'll be able to comment on all of them. If nobody wants to comment on my latest piece due to me not comment on yours I don't blame you. Still, I would appreciate you taking the time to look at it.

Working Xbox and Tenchu Z review

Thu Jan 1, 2009, 2:11 PM
For those who read my journal, you know my Xbox360 took a dump on my and got the Red Ring of Death. Friends that sympathized with me, thank you. This may sound shady to a few of you, but what I did was I went to target, bought a new Xbox, went home and set it up. I put my old one back in the new box, brought it back to target, and returned. It may sound really horrible to some, but keep this in mind. Microsoft put these systems out on the market knowing it had this problem. Plus, Microsoft will pay target back for all there broken Xbox360's so target didn't lose any money on it. Thank you dustinsworth for going with me to do that. Your a good friend.

Now on to the game review. Tenchu Z for Xbox360. Very different from the other Tenchu games. If you haven't ever played the Tenchu series, you play a ninja being sent on missions to either retrieve information, rescue prisoners, or my favorite, assassination. Lurking in the shadows, clinging to walls, running the rooftops, it's all possible. What I really enjoy about Tenchu's latest addition is the customization you can do to your ninja. No two ninjas I have seen look alike. That's right! Take this game online with up to four of your friends and clear out an entire village of enemy ninja. However, don't get caught or you can aware the entire area of your team's presence. Aside your sword, there is a multitude of other items you can use. Shuriken, smoke bombs, blowguns, caltrops, mines, traps, all sorts of equipment. As the game progresses, your ninja becomes stronger, faster, and can learn a multitude of new skills and abilities. That includes a ninja vanish! Be quick, be stealthy, and for god sakes, try not to get caught. Tenchu Z can be found used at your local gamestop for $17.99. Well worth it in my opinion. As I have already spent more than 40 hours playing it. I even find the replay value high. I am looking forward to the next installment to the Tenchu series. I have included a link to see the Tenchu Z trailer. Keep gaming!

The winking red eye...

Tue Dec 23, 2008, 6:54 PM
Well DA friends, I officially have problems. I turned on my xbox360 and bam... RROD. If you don't know what RROD means, it means the Red Ring Of Death. It's an overheating error that renders your xbox unplayable. If you don't know by now, microsoft went the cheap route to make xbox360 and hired a crappy engineer to design the xbox and they have overheating issues. At this point, I have 3 options. Number one, is take my aggression out on microsoft and call them up raising all kinds of hell. The next, is suck it up and buy a new xbox. The third is saying fuck xbox all together, but yet I love so many of the titles. There is a fourth option, which is only a temporary solution. Wrap the xbox up in towels, turn it on, and let it bake itself for 25 minutes. Its suppose to reset the motherboard making it think it never had the problem to begin with. As of now, thats what I'm doing. However this solution is only suppose to last for about 3-5 days, and If you are a hardcore gamer like myself, this maybe shorter. I can smell an electrical type smell emitting from the machine, but online tutorials say this is normal and not to worry. And right before christmas and my birthday! Why me? I'm sure alot of you are like, " Its just an xbox. " But games are my life, and my systems are like my children. I can't help but panic. And I just downloaded castle crashers for it too. If this towel trick can't get me through the next couple of days, it looks like I will be fighting christmas hordes for a new xbox. And not as a gift, but as a replacement... Sad huh? I mean, I guess I can't be thankful that xbox360 shot down another hundred bucks in the past few months, and a new 20g Xbox360 is $199.99, but its the principle of it. Anyway, the baking process is just about complete. I will update this journal later letting you know if this works. If anyone can sympathize with me or just offer a shoulder to cry on( I'm not really crying, but you get it.) , please comment.

The towel trick worked...

Left 4 Dead - Xbox360 Review

Thu Dec 18, 2008, 1:55 PM
If you haven't played Left 4 Dead yet, you don't know what you're missing. In this game, up to 4 players team up in battling the apocalyptic zombie horde, making it from safehouse to safehouse, til finally a means of escape from the city. The escape is either via helicopter, boat, plane, or military tank. This game extremely relies on how well you and your friends work together. There are several variations of undead. Though these "zombies" follow more of the 28 days later rules of being able to run and jump and climb fences, this still makes for a great survival horror game. If you venture to far from the group, you might find yourself buried under the flesh ripping hands of a hunter. A Hunter is an undead foe wearing a gray sweater that pounces on its victims usually from the rooftops. Once pounced, the victim cannot get up on there own, it relies entirely on your friends getting this beast of you. Once on the victim, it begins to violently rip them apart, steadily reduces your health. Another form of undead is the smoker. A monstrosity with a tongue capable of lashing out from 100ft and dragging them across the ground till it pulls them close and begins beating them. Again, getting out of this relies upon your friends. A Witch is another one. She can usually be found by following her eerie crying. Once disturbed, she gets up and can instantly down the one that disturbs her. She hates flashlights, so when you here that cry, turn it off. For the most part, she is pretty easy to just sneak around. Then, the worst of them all, the "Tank". Huge is size, and extremely strong. This bulbous mass of undead can throw you completely across the area, and throw chunks of concrete at you. If you are not careful, this thing can incapacitate your entire team. You have to work together or you have no hope. This is definitely not a game you can play without having a microphone. That's right, this game is for either xbox360 or pc. Its very easy to make some friends with this game considering you are working together. If you find yourself incapacitated on the ground, though you can still fire your hand gun, one of your friends have to help you up. I notice that the more you help someone, the better friends you become and can end up playing through several campaigns with them later on. Probably one of the best features of this game is that every time you play, even if its the same campaign, its different. Where there once was a living room full of undead, maybe entirely empty and instead have a couple of Molotov cocktails and some automatic weaponry. This factor makes for a different experience every time you play. I usually won't give a game a number scale rating in fun, but the best way to describe this game is a 10/10. The only user complaint is the shortness of the game. There is rumor that they will soon be adding the mall from " Dawn of the Dead ", of course with permission of our zombie master George Romero. Left 4 Dead can be picked up at your local gamestop new for $59.99, or used for $54.99. I suggest finding it online cheaper though. But definitely well worth its price. Til next time, keep gaming, and you can find my Xbox live gamertag, wii friend code, and smash bros. code on my home page if anyone wants to play.
